When the the Master sweeps the universe and cleans all Dreams ,

My primary care physician is not a neurologist. He doesn’t understand the difference between sadness and damage. I do not like this man. He refuses adjectives. He wants me to say My pain is eight, instead of Thunderous and unsettling. When he says You’ll be fine, I have to explain that I won’t because I’ve never been fine, but I’m not saying it right. It concerns him, my attitude. I think many people struggle with my aesthetic. I am back at the first hospital, the one that said I wasn’t having a stroke. This is where insurance sent me. The first time I saw this man, once I got out of the hospital, he also didn’t believe I had a stroke and wouldn’t refill my prescriptions. The hospitals weren’t sharing my charts. He watched me struggle with my walker as I went down the long hall to the elevators, thinking I was faking it. The second time, I had a crying jag that started in the waiting room. I kept crying while the nurse weighed me and took my blood pressure. The doctor kept talking about sadness, not nerve damage. He would not increase the dose of the muscle relaxant. He did not want to discuss spasticity. He thought I was showing drug-seeking behavior. Throw a rattle, a baby would. Chew off your leg, an animal would. This is the third time I have been in this office. My pain is eight. I am speaking in his language. He isn’t listening.
